Alone
I heard footsteps on the stairs,pounding up them,making the ancient floorboards creak.
I heard doors slamming.I imagined the splinters scattering everywhere.
I heard screams and pleas.My mothers voice,and my sister
I heard harsh laughter.
I heard a shot.Echoing through the house.
And then I was alone.
